IAHN Tampung Penyang Commences Dies Natalis 24th Anniversary Celebration

IAHNTPnews,- Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya held the peak celebration of its 24th Anniversary on Saturday (26/7) at the Rectorate Building courtyard, Jalan G. Obos X, Palangka Raya City.

The event was not merely ceremonial but also served as a moment of reflection and consolidation for the entire academic community to strengthen their commitment to positioning IAHN as a center of excellence in Hindu religious studies and the preservation of local wisdom in Indonesia.

The celebration was attended by several distinguished figures, including Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, who joined virtually, Governor of Central Kalimantan represented by Expert Staff to the Governor for Economy, Finance, and Development, Yuas Elko as well as officials from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Kalimantan Province and Palangka Raya City, university leaders, religious and community leaders, and the entire IAHN Tampung Penyang community.

Rector of IAHN Tampung Penyang, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag., in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the institution’s journey as it enters its 24th year. He emphasized that this age marks a stage of maturity for a higher education institution to reaffirm its strategic direction and long-term vision.

“Twenty-four years is a golden moment. We are not only celebrating achievements but also laying a solid foundation for a future that is excellent, competitive, and grounded in religious values,” he said.

The Rector further explained that this year’s Anniversary celebration was enriched with meaningful activities, including a Healthy Walk, Community Service at Houses of Worship, Assistance for Fire Victims, Donations to Orphanages, and various Educational and Creative Competitions.

He noted that all activities were realized through the voluntary contributions of staff and funding support from the institute’s budget, expressing his highest appreciation for the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) that became the main driving force behind the celebration’s success.

“The contributions of all members truly demonstrate love and loyalty to this beloved campus. We move together, we build together,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nengah Duija, M.Si., in his virtual address, conveyed high expectations that the 24th Anniversary would serve as a catalyst for enhancing the quality of all campus elements.

“This Anniversary must be a momentum to strengthen the quality assurance of lecturers, students, and the synergy of all Hindu Kaharingan elements in shaping a brighter future for the campus,” he stated.

He also expressed hope that by 2026, IAHN Tampung Penyang would transform into the first leading Hindu University in Kalimantan.

Chairman of the Kaharingan Hindu Religious Council of Palangka Raya, Drs. Walter S. Penyang, who is also a pioneer of Hindu education in Central Kalimantan, shared his hope that the entire academic community would continue to nurture and advance the institution.

“This institute is a valuable asset for improving the quality of Hindu human resources in Palangka Raya. Safeguard and develop it together,” he said.

Rector Mujiyono further called on all campus elements to continue innovating and adapting amidst the challenges of the times. He stressed the importance of strengthening the quality of teaching, research, and cross-sector collaboration to address global needs.

“Let us continue to reinforce the strategic role of this campus, both locally and nationally. Together, we can realize an IAHN that is excellent, inclusive, and deeply rooted in the noble values of religion and culture,” he concluded.

With the spirit of gotong royong continuing to thrive, IAHN Tampung Penyang remains optimistic about the future.
