IAHNTP News,– The Faculty of Dharma Duta and Brahma Widya (FDDBW) of Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya held a Multimedia Workshop on Photography, Videography, and Broadcasting, themed “Drawing Stories Through the Lens.” The event took place at the Student Center Hall, 3rd Floor, on Tuesday (30/9).

The workshop was officially opened by the Rector of IAHN-TP, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag., and attended by the Vice Rector III, faculty deans, lecturers, and students. The session featured speakers Djuana Pandji (Photographer), Supriani, S.Pd. (Head of RRI Broadcasting Palangka Raya), and Deny Krisbiyantoro (Photographer).
In his remarks, the Rector, Dr. Mujiyono, emphasized the importance of students participating earnestly in the activity to acquire both technical competence and broad insight in the multimedia field.
“A photographer must be able to capture images precisely and effectively. Even in less favorable conditions, knowledge, skill, and continuous learning are essential to produce the best work,” he stated.

He further noted that mass and electronic media play an important role in conveying messages through visual means.
“Stories can be told not only through words but also through visuals. Photographs can offer clearer descriptions and deeper meaning,” he added.
The Rector also highlighted the importance of Hindu communication values, stressing that students should be able to speak with sincerity, deliver messages with good intonation, and uphold ethics and propriety in communication.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FDDBW, Dr. I Wayan Salendra, S.Ag., M.Si., remarked that the workshop serves as an important platform for students to integrate theory with practice.
“This workshop provides valuable experience for students before they engage with the wider community. Communication science cannot be separated from ethics and aesthetics, whether in mass or electronic media,” he explained.
Through this workshop, students are expected to improve their multimedia communication skills, producing works that are not only informative but also creative and aesthetically meaningful. //mr//
