Fieldwork Preparation for Students of the Cultural and Religious Tourism Program

IAHNTP News,– The Cultural and Religious Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Dharma Duta and Brahma Widya (FDBW), Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya, organized a Fieldwork Practice Preparation (PKL) Program for its students. The activity took place in the FDBW Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, on Thursday (9/10).

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Duta and Brahma Widya, Dr. I Wayan Salendra, S.Ag., M.Si. In his address, he emphasized the importance of mental readiness and adaptability for students who will undertake fieldwork assignments.

“Students must be able to adapt to new environments and adjust to the existing work culture. Do not bring home habits into the workplace. Fieldwork is a combination of classroom learning and real-world experience. Maintain good behavior, take care of your health, and document all activities during the internship,” he asserted.

Dr. I Wayan Salendra further mentioned that several alumni of the Cultural and Religious Tourism Study Program had previously completed their internships in the border area of Lamandau Regency and even received job offers there. This, he noted, demonstrates the importance of PKL experiences as valuable preparation for entering the professional world.

Meanwhile, Suwito, S.Ag., M.Si., Chair of the Committee, explained in his report that this preparation program is an essential part of the academic learning process.

“This activity aims to provide students with insights and understanding of the working environment, both in the industrial sector and in government institutions. In addition, the program is expected to strengthen students’ mental readiness and professionalism before they begin their field practice,” he explained.

Through this preparation activity, students are expected to make the most of their fieldwork opportunities to broaden their knowledge and experience while developing professional character in the field of cultural and religious tourism. //Mr//
