IAHN-TP Library Holds User Education Program: “Filter Information, Strengthen Tolerance, Build a Moderate Generation”

IAHNTP News,– The Library Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya held a User Education Program with the theme “Filter Information, Strengthen Tolerance, Build a Moderate Generation.” The event took place at the IAHN-TP Multipurpose Hall on Friday (10/10), attended by the Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag., Vice Rector III, faculty deans, and students.

The event was officially opened by the rector, emphasizing the importance of user education in improving students’ ability to utilize library resources optimally. He underlined the significance of strengthening the values of the Asta Cita of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, particularly in the context of humanity and ecotheology, which serve as the foundation for academic development in religious higher education institutions.

“Students must be active contributors to national progress by improving the quality of human resources. A library is not merely a place to store books, it is a center of knowledge, a space for learning, reading, and reflection. At IAHN-TP, we aim to transform the library into a collaborative hub that bridges tradition, local wisdom, and modern science,” the Rector stated.

Meanwhile, Committee Chair, Muhammad Nur Effendi, S.Kom., in his report, explained that the User Education Program aims to ensure that all members of the IAHN-TP academic community can optimally utilize both physical and digital library resources.

“Amid the rapid flow of digital information, libraries are no longer just book repositories. We have provided various digital resources such as e-journals and e-books, which are essential assets for research and the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” he said.

Through this activity, it is expected that IAHN-TP students will develop a stronger sense of information literacy, the ability to critically filter information, and a commitment to viewing the library as a space for nurturing a moderate, intelligent, and character-driven generation.
