IAHN-TP Palangka Raya Strengthens Commitment to Becoming an Excellent and Competitive Center for Hindu Studies

IAHNTPNews – Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a center for Hindu studies that is excellent, characterized, and competitive at both national and international levels. This commitment was emphasized by the Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag., in his address during the Socialization of the Institute’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategic Direction, held at the multipurpose hall on Thursday (15/10).

In his remarks, Dr. Mujiyono stated that IAHN-TP Palangka Raya serves as a higher education institution dedicated to developing excellent and character-based human resources through the reinforcement of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education:education, research, and community service.

“We are building intelligent, ethical, and globally competitive human resources. It is time to work, innovate, and contribute to religion, culture, and the nation,” said Dr. Mujiyono.

The vision of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya is “To become a leading and competitive center for Hindu studies.”
To realize this vision, the Institute upholds four main missions:

1. Conducting education based on the values of dharma and local wisdom;
2. Developing innovative Hindu research relevant to contemporary needs;
3. Conducting community service programs rooted in Hindu spirituality;
4. Expanding collaborative networks at the national and international levels.

Strategically, IAHN-TP focuses on strengthening interdisciplinary curricula that integrate Hindu values and Dayak culture, improving faculty competence, developing Hindu study centers, digitalizing academic services, and expanding cross-sectoral partnerships.

The socialization event was attended by representatives from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Kalimantan Province, Alman P. Pakpahan, Expert Staff of the Mayor of Palangka Raya for Government, Law, and Politics, Hamka, Expert Staff of the Governor of Central Kalimantan for Social and Human Resources Affairs, and Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nengah Duija, M.Si. who joined the event virtually.

In his address, Prof. Duija underlined that a campus vision must be measurable, inspiring, and realistic.

“A vision is not merely a narrative but a commitment that must be implemented through clear and measurable strategies,” he stated.

He highlighted three key words of the institute’s vision—center for studies, excellence, and competitiveness—which, he said, must be translated into concrete and gradual steps.

“It is impossible to achieve all three at once. Start by strengthening research to gain national and international recognition,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hamka, representing the Governor of Central Kalimantan Agustiar Sabran, expressed appreciation for IAHN-TP’s significant role in shaping human resources who are principled, ethical, and nationally minded.

“IAHN Tampung Penyang not only produces intellectually capable graduates but also individuals who are morally and spiritually mature,” he stated.

The Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan, he continued, fully supports the strengthening of Hindu improve competitiveness and community welfare.

“We hope that IAHN will continue to advance and become a center for the development of Hindu knowledge, religion, and culture that benefits Central Kalimantan,” he concluded.

Through a spirit of collaboration and innovation, IAHN-TP Palangka Raya continues to position itself as a state Hindu higher education institution that not only excels academically but also contributes to human resource development and the preservation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage. //Ay//
