IAHNTPNews, – The Faculty of Dharma Sastra, Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya, organized a Paralegal Training and Technical Guidance in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Central Kalimantan Province, held at the Faculty of Dharma Sastra Hall on Wednesday (29/10).

The event was officially opened by the Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag., and attended by university and faculty leaders. The speakers were from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Central Kalimantan, including Agustina Daya Leluni, Herry Permana, and Musa Ansari Rambe.

In his remarks, Mujiyono emphasized that law students must possess comprehensive insight and knowledge, both theoretical and practical.

“Students should not only understand legal theory but also be able to apply it in real-life contexts. Empirical legal knowledge must be cultivated so that graduates can make meaningful contributions to society,” he stated.

He further underlined that the training aligns with the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ program to improve the quality of human resources among lecturers and students.

“Paralegals play a vital role in providing legal education, drafting legal documents, and improving public access to justice. This initiative represents a tangible form of community service for law graduates,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Sastra, Dr. I Made Kastama, S.H., M.H., noted that the paralegal training serves as a strategic step in preparing law students for community engagement.

“This program is essential as it allows students to integrate academic legal theory with field practice. Through this training, we hope students will understand the paralegal role and be capable of assisting communities in addressing various legal issues,” he said.

He also mentioned that participants would receive certificates as a complementary credential to their degrees, serving as proof of their practical legal competence.

“We aim to produce graduates who are ready to work and capable of becoming part of the solution to legal problems in society,” he added.

The committee chair, Citranu, M.H., reported that the activity represents the implementation of the law principle, ensuring equality before the law for all citizens.

“This training aims to strengthen students’ capacity and competence in providing legal assistance to the public, particularly through the Legal Aid Institute (LKBH) of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya. It is expected to produce professional and ethical paralegals with a strong understanding of Indonesia’s legal principles,” he explained.

The Paralegal Training and Technical Guidance was held over two days, from October 29 to 30, 2025, with a total of 40 participants. //mr//
