Dharma Duta Festival 2025: “Young Hindu Generation with Character, Innovation, and Inspiration”

IAHNTPNews, – The Faculty of Dharma Duta and Brahma Widya of Institut Agama Hindu Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya organized the 2025 Dharma Duta Festival, carrying the theme “Young Hindu Generation with Character, Innovation, and Inspiration.” The event took place at the IAHN-TP Open Stage on Thursday (30/10).

The festival was officially opened by the Rector of IAHN-TP, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag. In his remarks, the Rector stated that the Dharma Duta Festival serves as an important momentum to improve students’ skills, creativity, and collaboration between the institute and secondary schools.

“This event provides a platform for young generations to develop their potential while preserving arts, culture, and knowledge in Central Kalimantan. The institute upholds the values of art, culture, and environmental sustainability in line with its vision to become an excellent and competitive center for Hindu studies,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Duta and Brahma Widya, Dr. I Wayan Salendra, M.Si., emphasized that the Dharma Duta Festival is an annual activity continuously improved in quality and scope.

“This festival serves as a venue for students and pupils to express creativity and talent. We hope all participants compete with discipline and sportsmanship, supported by a panel of competent judges,” he noted.

In her report, the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. Ni Nyoman Ayu Wilantari, S.Ag., M.Fil.H., explained that the 2025 Dharma Duta Festival aims to provide a space for young Hindus to actualize themselves, sharpen their potential, deepen their religious understanding, and embody dharmic values creatively and innovatively.

“In today’s era full of moral, social, and spiritual challenges, this festival serves as an educational strategy to reinvigorate the teachings of dharma through engaging, communicative, and contextually relevant activities,” she added.

The Dharma Duta Festival 2025 featured the following competition categories:

1. Senior High/Vocational School Level: Dharma Wacana (Religious Speech) and Creative Dance Competitions.
2. General Category: Band Competition.

The festival was conducted in a hybrid format (online and offline). The event began with online registration and preliminary selection, where participants submitted performance videos via YouTube for assessment by the jury. Finalists then performed live at the IAHN-TP Palangka Raya campus.

A total of 50 participants took part in the 2025 Dharma Duta Festival. The event is expected to strengthen the spirit of the young Hindu generation in creating, innovating, and contributing to the preservation of national culture. //mr//
