Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Plants Trees at IAHN Tampung Penyang: Advancing a Green and Ecotheological Campus

IAHNTPNews,- The Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., carried out a working visit to Central Kalimantan Province. One of his key agendas was a tree-planting activity at the campus of the Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya, on Thursday (6/11).

Despite the rainy weather, the tree-planting activity proceeded with enthusiasm. After a brief delay due to the rain, the event took place smoothly and solemnly, warmly welcomed by the Rector, institutional leaders, lecturers, staff, and students of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya.

During the visit, the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., shared his impressions of the IAHN campus.

“The campus of IAHN Tampung Penyang looks beautiful and clean, and the students appear neat and orderly. I hope that this institution will produce future leaders and distinguished local figures,” he remarked.

He further emphasized the importance of creating a green and refreshing campus environment, not only physically but also spiritually.

“May IAHN Tampung Penyang become even greener in the future, not only in its physical environment but also in the hearts of its entire community,” he added.

In his remarks, the Minister also elaborated on the concept of ecotheology, a theological perspective that places humans, God, and nature as an inseparable unity.

“Humans cannot be separated from nature. To achieve a prosperous life, humanity must live in harmony with God and the universe,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, M.Ag., expressed his gratitude for the Minister’s visit and attention to the institution.

“We are sincerely grateful for the Minister’s presence on our campus. This tree-planting activity reflects the implementation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Asta Protas, particularly in the aspect of ecotheology,” the Rector said.

He added that the tree-planting activity was not merely ceremonial but a concrete expression of love for the earth and the natural environment.

“Through this tree planting, we aim to cultivate an atmosphere rich in oxygen and positive energy, while strengthening ecological awareness across the campus,” he continued.

This activity symbolizes the collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and IAHN Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya in promoting the Green Campus initiative and reinforcing eco-spiritual values within Indonesia’s religious higher education landscape. //agus//
