The 2025 Open Senate Session, Peak Ceremony of the 24th Undergraduate and 8th Postgraduate Graduation

IAHNTPNews,- Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya marked another important milestone by convening the 24th Undergraduate and 8th Postgraduate Senate Open Session Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, 4 December 2025. A total of 167 graduates were officially conferred their academic degrees in a solemn event held at the IAHN-TP Multipurpose Hall.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice Governor of Central Kalimantan, H. Edy Pratowo, representing the Governor, members of the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda), community figures, regional officials, and families of the graduates. The Director General of Hindu Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nengah Duija, M.Si, also joined the event virtually.

In his remarks, the Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag, expressed great pride in all graduates who successfully completed their studies. He also extended his appreciation to the parents for entrusting their children’s education to the institution.

“With utmost sincerity, we apologize for any shortcomings in educating and guiding your children. Today, we return your sons and daughters to you. They are not only your children, but also ours,” he said with emotion.

He emphasized that the academic environment represents only “a drop of water in the ocean” in the long journey of learning in life.

“Continue learning, deepen your knowledge, and improve your competence, motivation, innovation, and integrity. Become individuals who make your parents, society, the nation, and your religion proud.”

He further conveyed that IAHN-TP is currently undergoing a transformation process toward becoming a university, aligned with the human resource development needs of Central Kalimantan as a supporting region for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

“Be agents of change. Remember your alma mater and respect your teachers and lecturers. We are proud to see you graduate today, but we will be even more proud when you succeed in the future,” he affirmed.

The Vice Governor, Edy Pratowo, expressed high appreciation for the academic achievements and institutional progress made by IAHN-TP under the leadership of the Rector.

“On behalf of the Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan, we express our highest appreciation to IAHN Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya for continuously enhancing the quality of education,” he stated.

He reiterated the provincial government’s full support for IAHN-TP’s transformation into a university.

“This is our shared aspiration. The change in status will greatly improve quality, facilities, and the institution’s contribution to regional development.”

According to him, the provincial government has formally conveyed its support to the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) to expedite approval of the status change.

Director General Prof. Duija, in his virtual remarks, expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the academic community in upholding academic processes, leading to the successful completion of this year’s graduation ceremony.

“A well-implemented academic process reflects the commitment of the entire academic community in carrying out the mandates of prevailing regulations,” he remarked.

He also highlighted IAHN-TP’s contributions to developing the potential of Central Kalimantan through the perspective of Hindu Kaharingan.

Regarding the transformation into a university, he noted that the proposal documents remain under evaluation at the Ministry of PANRB.

“Our hope is that 2025 will mark accelerated progress, enabling IAHN Tampung Penyang to complete its transformation into a university by the end of 2026.”

He called for support from all parties, including the provincial government, religious leaders, and the Central Kalimantan community, to ensure the process proceeds optimally.

The graduation procession took place solemnly and emotionally, marking a monumental moment for graduates as they prepare to contribute to society.

IAHN-TP Palangka Raya reaffirms its role as a growing Hindu higher education institution and an important part of Central Kalimantan’s future human resource development. //ay//
