Grand Final of the 2025 IAHN-TP Palangka Raya National Academic and Arts Competition (KARSA)

IAHNTPNews,– Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya, through the Faculty of Dharma Acarya, held the Grand Final of the 2025 National Academic and Arts Competition (KARSA) on Tuesday (9/12), held in the Rectorate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor. The event was attended by university leaders, lecturers, and students, and was officially opened by the Rector of IAHN-TP, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag.

In his remarks, the Rector emphasized that the implementation of KARSA is part of academic demands to improve students’ competencies. He also noted that this activity represents a strategic step in strengthening the university’s competitiveness at the national and international levels.

The Rector stated that KARSA marks an inaugural momentum that will be continued in the coming years as an annual agenda.

“This is a social necessity to expand the university’s outreach among the younger generation, build broader networks, and foster self-esteem through strong academic and non-academic competencies,” he said. He further highlighted the importance of developing cultural, artistic, and humanitarian values in line with IAHN-TP’s identity as a cultural and Tampung Penyang (spirit of unity) campus.

The Rector also expressed appreciation to all parties involved for ensuring the successful implementation of the event, which continues to expand by involving more higher education institutions. On this occasion, IAHN-TP also opened opportunities for collaboration with various PTKN/PTKS and other universities.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Acarya, Dr. Derson, S.Ag., M.Ag., reported that KARSA serves as a competition aimed to foster creativity, academic capability, and pedagogical competence among the academic community at the national level. This year’s competition featured four categories: Traditional Music Arrangement, Microteaching, Scientific Writing (Student Category), and Scientific Writing (Lecturer Category). Participants came from various universities, including IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Universitas Palangka Raya, IAKN Palangka Raya, UHN Denpasar, IAHN Gde Puja Mataram, IAHN Mpu Kuturan Singaraja, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Politeknik Kesehatan Palangka Raya.

Registration and submission of works were conducted online from 1 October to 17 November 2025, with a total of 51 participants, consisting of:

1. 32 participants in the microteaching competition
2. 10 participants in the lecturer scientific writing competition
3. 6 participants in the student scientific writing competition
4. 3 participants in the traditional music arrangement competition

Assessment by the judging panel was conducted from 18–30 November 2025, involving three judges, two judges from IAHN-TP and one from an external institution. Evaluation was conducted professionally and objectively, particularly for the scientific writing category, which applied a blind review mechanism to ensure integrity and avoid bias.

Through this competition, the Faculty of Dharma Acarya aims to improve academic quality, expand inter-academic networks, and nurture a generation that is creative and excellent in pedagogy, research, and traditional arts. //mr//
