IAHN-TP Confers Professional Status on 491 Hindu Religious Education Teachers PPG Batch III 2025

IAHNTPNews-, Institut Agama Hindu Negeri Tampung Penyang (IAHN-TP) Palangka Raya held the Yudisium and Conferment of Professional Teacher Status for participants of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) in Hindu Religious Education, Batch III of 2025, organized by the IAHN-TP Training Institution for Educational Personnel (LPTK). The event took place at the IAHN-TP Multipurpose Hall on Tuesday (30/12).

The ceremony was attended by the Director of Hindu Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudarsana, M.Pd.H, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Kalimantan represented by the Head of Hindu Religious Affairs Division, MB-AHK Central Board, PHDI Central Kalimantan, WHDI, the leadership of IAHN-TP, lecturers, and PPG graduates.

In his address, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana expressed appreciation and high regard for the leadership of IAHN-TP for its continued commitment and consistency in implementing the Professional Teacher Education Program. He emphasized that the activity was not merely ceremonial, but aligned with the Eight Priority Programs (Asta Protas) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, particularly the Transformative PPG Program.

“The Transformative PPG Program aims to ensure that all Hindu Religious Education teachers obtain professional certification. The government remains committed to improving teacher quality as a fundamental pillar of education,” he stated.

He further underlined that certified Hindu PPG teachers are expected not only to demonstrate academic professionalism, but also to uphold moral integrity, noble character, and a strong spirit of religious service. Teachers play a strategic role as implementers of the Asta Protas of the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance and the Curriculum of Love (Panca Cinta), which emphasizes devotion to God Almighty, humanity, knowledge, the environment and nature, as well as the nation and the state.

Addressing challenges in the digital era, Prof. Ketut Sudarsana also advised teachers to balance digital learning with fundamental literacy practices, including manual reading and writing, to strengthen students’ comprehension and critical thinking.

Meanwhile, Rector of IAHN-TP Palangka Raya, Dr. Mujiyono, S.Ag., M.Ag, reaffirmed IAHN-TP’s strong commitment as a Training Institution for Educational Personnel (LPTK) to preserving local wisdom, particularly Dayak culture of Central Kalimantan.

“IAHN-TP is committed to becoming a center for Hindu studies and local wisdom in Central Kalimantan, producing professional teachers who do not merely work, but dedicate themselves and serve as guiding lights for society,” the Rector emphasized.

He also linked the role of PPG teachers to the implementation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Asta Protas, including strengthening religious harmony and ecotheology, improving educational excellence, empowering community-based religious economies, and adapting to advances in digital technology.

In his report, Dean of the Faculty of Dharma Acarya, Dr. Derson, S.Ag., M.Ag, explained that PPG Batch III of 2025 aimed to improve the competence, personality, and professionalism of Hindu Religious Education teachers, while accelerating teacher certification as a prerequisite for improving welfare.

The PPG process included administrative selection, independent learning, competency examinations, and performance assessments. A total of 491 participants were enrolled in Batch III, consisting of 160 online participants and 331 offline participants from Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Java, and Lampung. The overall graduation rate was reported as highly satisfactory.

The yudisium ceremony marked a meaningful and proud milestone for all participants upon the successful completion of the PPG program, while also serving as a strategic step in strengthening the quality of Hindu human resources, particularly in Central Kalimantan. //mr//
